Charles Kimani

Group Finance Director

Charles is currently the Group Finance Director, Britam Holdings PLC. He has over 20 years’ experience in the Financial Services sector where he has managed transformational and turnaround projects, having worked with ABN Amro Bank, GT Bank, Family Bank, Old Mutual and Faulu Micro-Finance Bank where he was the Managing Director. He holds an MBA (Finance) from the University of Nairobi, Bsc (Accounting) from United States International University – Africa (USIU) and is a CPA (K) and CPS (K). He is a graduate of Strategic Leadership in Inclusive Finance (Harvard Business School), Advanced Management Program, Strathmore - IESE Business School, University of Navarra (Spain) and Africa Board Fellowship (ACCION – Centre for Financial Inclusion).

Ambrose Dabani

Chief Executive And Principal Officer - Britam Life Assurance Company (K) Limited

Ambrose is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, UK and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, University of Nairobi. He has previously held senior roles at Britam that include General Manager – Life Business, Chief Actuary, Risk and Investment Officer and Chief Operations Officer. Prior to joining Britam he worked as Head of Actuarial, Alexander Forbes Financial Services, Namibia.

Saurabh Sharma

Director, Emerging Consumers

Saurabh holds both a Master of Business Administration, Rural Management, Institute of Rural Management, India and Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences, HP State Agriculture University, India. Saurabh is a global micro insurance expert, who was responsible for implementing inclusive insurance programs in five countries across South Asia and East Africa that have reached more than two million lives. Prior to joining Britam, he supported Britam Microinsurance as an ILO Impact Insurance Fellow. Prior to this, he was working in a consulting capacity at Resilience Design and Research Labs, a specialized microinsurance advisory firm working in South Asia. He has authored multiple publications in the micro-insurance space, published by the International Labor Organization (ILO), Micro-insurance Network, and Governments of India and Sri Lanka.

Evah Kimani

Director, Partnerships & Digital

Evah is a passionate and experienced products & partnerships expert with over 15 years’ experience and a strong footprint in ICT, Digital Channels, and Products Marketing roles. She has worked across telco, ICT and FSI industries leading teams and portfolios responsible for building and growing new revenues, customer-focused digital solutions and channels, and cross-sector shared-value partnerships. She has a postgraduate degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor’s degree in computer Science from the University of Nairobi.

Barrack Obatsa

CEO, Britam Asset Managers (BAM) (K)

Mr. Barrack Obatsa has over 18 years of experience in the investment industry and has served in various capacities including as Chief Investment Officer, ICEA LION Asset Management Limited, where he worked for 7 years. Prior to joining ICEA LION, Barack worked at Africa Alliance Bank Limited for 11 years, rising from Analyst to Regional Chief Investment Officer. 

Barack holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Financial Services from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology, a Master of Science in Finance (Economic Policy) from the University of London, and a Master of Science in Real Estate (Investment and Finance) from the University of Reading. 

His professional designations include Chartered Banker, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is a member of the Institute of Certified Investments & Financial Analysts - Kenya, the Institute of Internal Auditors - Kenya, the CFA Institute, and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Additionally, he is a Certified Engagement and Productivity Coach (CEPC), having successfully completed a globally accredited coaching program with CDI – Africa Coaching.

Jackson Theuri

Chief Executive And Principal Officer - Britam General Insurance Company (K) Limited

Jackson holds an MBA in Global Business Management, United States International University (USIU- Africa) and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option), Kenyatta University. Jackson is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). Prior to joining Britam, Theuri was the Group CEO, Harvard Africa, Deputy Group Managing Director – General Insurance, UAP - Old Mutual, Group Chief Finance Officer, UAP Holdings and Senior Manager, PwC Kenya and UK.

Kennedy B. Aosa

Director, International Insurance Business

Kennedy holds both a Master degree in Business Administration (Marketing) and Bachelor of Commerce in Business Administration both from University of Pune. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) and Associate of the Insurance Institute of India (AIII) and is a chartered Insurer. He has served in various roles in the Insurance Company including General Manager, Marketing Manager and Assistant Underwriting Manager.

Evelyne Munyoki

Director, Human Resources

Evelyne holds a BA Land Economics, MBA degree from USIU and is currently a Doctorate Student at Regent University - USA. She is a certified coach and an internationally certified trainer & facilitator. She joined Britam from Kenya Airways PLC, where she headed the people agenda and culture strategy. Prior to this, she was the HR Director at the Cooperative Bank of Kenya and has held different HR roles in various organizations. She has over 15 years’ experience in senior leadership management, and all areas of Human Capital.

Catherine Karita

Director, Strategy & Investor Relations

Ms. Catherine Karita joined Britam Holdings PLC as the Strategy & Investor Relations Director effective 1st December 2021. She is an executive leader with over 12 years’ experience in senior leadership. She has immense experience in financial services having previously worked for Bank of America, SBG Securities as Head of Institutional Clients Sales and Trading and more recently as an Executive Director, Brokerage at NCBA Investment Bank.

Diane Korir

Director, Customer Experience

Diane is a passionate customer experience executive with over 20 years experience in Client Experience, Process Re-engineering & Improvement, and IT Project Management within Insurance, Banking, Technology and Hospitality industries. She is an astute customer service professional with the ability to work across agile, complex and multi-cultural environments. She is a strategic and dynamic individual with a track record of high performance.

Eric Kisaka

Director of Risk and Compliance

With over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, Eric has served in various capacities, including as Head of Risk and Compliance at Equity Life Assurance Kenya, where he worked for the past year. Prior to joining Equity, Eric worked at UAP Old Mutual Group East Africa for 10 years, where he held the position of Chief Risk Officer.

Eric brings extensive experience in developing and executing risk management strategies, fostering a risk culture, and ensuring regulatory compliance. He has also been responsible for ensuring that companies he serves adhere to industry standards, regulations, and legal requirements with respect to risk and compliance.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Management Science) degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Commerce (Finance) from Strathmore University. He is also a Certified Digital Risk Manager, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Compliance Specialist, and Project Management Professional.

Eric enjoys farming and swimming during his free time.

Hilda Njeru

Legal Director

Hilda is a financial services executive with over 15 years’ extensive experience in banking, capital markets, regulatory affairs and corporate governance leadership. Hilda holds a Master of Science degree in International Business Administration from the University of London, a Master of Laws degree, LL.M, and a Bachelor of Laws degree, LL.B, both from the University of Nairobi. Hilda is also a Certified Public Accountant, CPA(K), a Certified Secretary, CS (K), an accredited Governance Auditor and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. Hilda is a member of the Women on Boards Network.
